If You’re Having a Crummy Day, Brush Off the Crumbs
|
The beginning 50 pages of Crummy Days were written with the Jacksonville Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group from Jacksonville, Florida. The book is comprised of a list of coping tips for people who live with neuropathy. It was the springboard leading into the coping book that followed several years later.
The second half of the book consists of vignettes and anecdotes to take people’s minds away from their pain no matter what their ailment is.
When the Refrigerator Got Feet is about the silly goings on of moving a fridge in the kitchen ... and a discussion about hamsters.
Why Don’t We Have an Estate Sale? is about the mayhem that ensued when a wayward car --- because the driver’s foot was stuck on the accelerator ---nearly caused devastation on a neighbor’s lawn.
My Mother, the Bullfighter. She was only a bullfighter in her mind but her tough attitude taught me how to hang tough ... most of the time.
Free to Be an Electronics Moron. How the words “read the directions” make me break out in a cold sweat. And we’re only talking about a phone here.
God, Please Be There. This is a Thank You Note. This was a note to God, thanking Him for coming up with menopause just when women need it.
Goo, Glorious Goo is about the time I turned my fingers into a mess of paraffin taffy.
Anonymity is a Good Thing. On the joys of being ordinary, and being fine about it. Yes, it is a joy to not be stared at when you’re eating corn on the cob in a restaurant.
