This is a public, nonprofit organization founded by Mary Ann Donovan and Norman Latov, MD in 1995. The membership is approximately 100,000. People may call to find out where a support group is located near them (1-800-247-6968). You can also contact them to help you find a neurologist near you. They will send you a newsletter via email and US mail.

The NAF is a nonprofit organization committed to helping patients find information and resources for treatment for their neuropathy. The organization is dedicated to improving the quality of life of all people with PN. Its vision is to be a "premiere patient advocacy organization ensuring that all neuropathy patients have access to medications, IVIG, and other treatments through patient empowerment..."

THE FOUNDATION FOR PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY

This is a private organization. It is the Foundation's goal to use every opportunity to improve the lives of those living with this sometimes debilitating disease. On its home page it says "Peripheral neuropathy is not a single disease. It's a general term for a series of disorders resulting from damage to the body's peripheral neuropathy system."

THE JACK MILLER CENTER FOR PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY

This center is dedicated to the education of both patients and healthcare providers about neuropathy. The Center provides state-of-the-art care to sufferers of peripheral neuropathy. Its clinical research works to identify causes and cures. Established: 2001.

THE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA CHAPTER OF THE NEUROPATHY ASSOCIATION (NCCNA)

The NCCNA is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation fostering the growth of support groups for people with peripheral neuropathy and for their caretakers. The group is dedicated to building support groups in all of northern California and Nevada.

GBS/CIDP FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL

The initials stand for GIllian-Barre Syndrome and Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy. This international foundation offers support to patients of GBS/CIDP. It also gives out grants and educates the public and professional groups.

AMERICAN CHRONIC PAIN ASSOCIATION (ACPA)

This Association was founded in 1980 and helps people cope with chronic pain.

If you are on IVIG therapy, you should know that NuFactor may be able to come to your home or office to provide this therapy to you. The magazine, IG Living, is available free if you request it on-line and if you are on intravenous immunoglobulin.
