If You're Having a Crummy Day, Brush Off the Crumbs!
Mims Cushing
Cushing's first book, is totally different from the 2009 book, You Can Cope With Peripheral Neuropathy. Written in 2002, If You're Having a Crummy Day, Brush Off the Crumbs! was written in two parts. The first part gives a person with PN some tips on how to deal with neuropathy. These tips were in large part suggestions from members of the neuropathy support group that Cushing started in Jacksonville, Florida, 1999. The first $10,000 taken from the sale of the book was given to The Neuropathy Association.
The second part of Crummy Days consists of short vignettes or thoughts on daily living (many of which are humorous) written by Mims Cushing. The anecdotes are intended to help a person realize that focusing on reading or something pleasurable can take his or her mind away from the illness.
